Because of Anxiety’s power, Riley flunks a disastrous hockey tryout, and Joy realizes that she needs to gather Riley’s emotions into one coherent whole, teaching Anxiety that success does not have to be achieved by restructuring her personality completely. Together, they find a new Sense of Self by combining good and bad memories. Ultimately, Riley gets back to her pals, aced hockey camp, and resumes a well-balanced emotional life, leading up to the culmination of self-acceptance when she smiles into the mirror checking her phone for results of Firehawks recruitment.
